Start: From Darwin
Return: To Darwin in Northern Territory Australia
Highlights: Darwin Wharf Precinct (from the movie 'Australia'),
Litchfield National Park, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern
Territory, jumping crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River, Territory
Wildlife Park, Berry Springs.
Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu
Travel towards Kakadu National Park, turning off after the Bark
Hut to head towards the South Alligator River. Join the Red Lily
Billabong track, this takes you past unspoilt billabongs teaming
with bird life. Rejoin the Arnhem Hyw, prior to the Kakadu Holiday
Village to arrive at Urbirr for sunset :Accommodation: Gagudju Cooinda
Lodge.
Day 2: Kakadu - Kakadu
Today explore the southern half of Kakadu, it's many waterfalls
including Gunlom and Maguk ( Barramundi Gorge ), returning to Cooinda
for a sunset cruise on Yellow Waters.
Day 3: Kakadu - Darwin
Restfull morning prior to wandering through the many gallaries at
Nourlangie Arts sites, after lunch stroll through the cultural centre
before returning to Darwin.
Notes:
Fatigue causes many crashes in Australia.
When driving long distances, stop and rest every 1-2 hours.
Try to have someone sit beside you to keep you company driving
as our NT roads can be long and straight.
Alcohol and driving dont mix.
For experienced drivers the blood alcohol level is 0.05.
Provisional drivers and young drivers may not have any alcohol
before driving.
Seat belts and child restraints must be worn by all vehicle occupants.
Always carry a copy of your drivers license in English.
Take plenty of water on all Outback trips;
check distances and driving conditions;
and ensure you have adequate petrol at all times.
Remember, rule Number 1 in the Outback: if your car breaks down
you MUST stay with your vehicle for safety reasons.
Dont drive after dark.

Ensure you are informed re the safety of swimming in the Top
End many areas are not safe to swim due to crocodiles.
